Natural Options to Relieve Headache Pain & Tension

Headaches often get brushed aside as nothing more than a common complaint, a quit-your-whining-and-start-working type of thing if only. While many people suffer them at one point or another, rarity is not the best way to judge just how nasty something can be. The pain of a headache can make day-to-day life a miserable challenge, and forces us to head straight for the aspirin. This is a sticky situation, because ultimately that will only perpetuate the problem.

Headaches are of different types such as a migraine, sinus headache and tension headache and they all bring discomfort and pain. Among their symptoms are nausea, pounding headache and vomiting. Headaches can be treated with preventive medications and anti-nausea drugs. On the other hand, there are also natural remedies that will relieve your headache pain.

Ginger Tea

Crush up an inch of ginger root and add it to boiling water. This homemade tea reduces inflammation in about the same amount of time as it would take an aspirin to work. It has been used for centuries in Asia to treat a number of ailments.

Nuts

Instead of popping a pill when you get a headache, toss back some almonds. For everyday tension-type headaches, almonds can be a natural remedy and a healthier alternative to other medicine. It acts as a pain reliever because it contains something called salicin, which is also an agent in popular over the counter killers. Try eating a handful or two of these wholesome nuts when you feel the ache start to set in.

Massage

Massage For temporary relief, try rubbing your temples or getting a neck, back, head, or shoulder massage. In a small study, people with migraines who had six weekly massage sessions had less frequent migraines and better sleep during the massage weeks and the three following weeks than a control group.

Essential oils

Essential oils carry biologically active volatile compounds of flowers and plants in a highly concentrated form. They are, in many ways, the essence of the plant and can provide therapeutic benefits in very small amounts.

Stretching

Stretches can ease the muscle tension that causes for headache pain. It is advisable that you stretch two times a day for 20 minutes. You can hold the stretch for five seconds, calm down for five seconds and repeat the stretch for five times.

Healthy Japanese Breakfast Recipes

Japanese breakfast is very similar to any typical local dish of the day. You would usually get a variety of small portions, including steamed rice, miso soup, grilled fish, pickles, and some Japanese breakfast omelet, which is usually sweet. For western people eating a full meal that we would rather choose for dinner seems very strange. But once you are in Japan you should definitely try it out. Not only it is extremely delicious, but it is very healthy packed with protein, healthy fats and very little sugar, especially compared to the western choices of cereal or pancakes.

A Traditional Japanese-Style Breakfast Consists Of Steamed Rice, Miso Soup, And Various Side Dishes. Common Side Dishes Are Broiled/Grilled Fish, Tamagoyaki (Rolled Omelet), Tsukemono Pickles, Nori (Dried Seaweed), Natto, And So On.

Gyoza

Gyoza was derived from Chinese pot stickers but the skin is thinner and usually smaller in size.  Nowadays you can buy packages of frozen gyoza from supermarkets, but it’s actually more fun to make your own with family and friends.  Also, it can be pretty versatile as you can put your leftover ingredients from the fridge or you can make just veggies only (usually it has pork in it).

Rolled Omelette

Tamagoyaki, a typical breakfast protein, is a Japanese egg omelette where thin layers of egg are rolled to create a thick and fluffy omelette, and then sliced into pieces. It is often seasoned with a sweet and savory dashi (depending on the cook's preference), and milk may or may not be added to create a fluffier texture. Grated Japanese daikon radish is often served on the side.

Donburi

Donburi (rice bowl dish) is an economical, fulfilling, and quick & easy meal.  It is my go-to menu when I don’t have much time to prepare full meal for my family.  Most common donburi include Gyudon (beef donburi), Oyakodon (chicken & egg donburi), Katsudon (deep-fried cutlet & egg donburi), Unadon (grilled eel donburi), and more.

Teriyaki Chicken

Teriyaki Chicken is one of the most popular Japanese dishes in the US. Ready made “Teriyaki Sauce” is usually available in nearby supermarkets. Interestingly, Teriyaki is actually a cooking technique, not the name of the sauce: teri means “luster” given by the sweet soy sauce marinade and yaki means “grilling”. The Japanese cooks all kinds of meat, seafood, and vegetables with this cooking method. Since the taste is sweet and savory, they are usually a hit with children as well.

Steamed Rice

Plain steamed rice, either white rice (hakumai) or brown rice (genmai), is an essential dish that accompanies the proteins and side dishes of breakfast, and should definitely be included.
